ASOS A/W10

Been doing a bit of online window shopping (as you do) today. So many great pieces out there at the minute - cannot WAIT for retailers to bring out their full A/W ranges.

I am a massive fan of online retailer ASOS  and they have already got some of the best pieces I have seen for autumn/winter '10 from what they've brought out of their range so far!

One of the best capes I've seen!
Completely wearable and available
in 2 colours - black and khaki.
ASOS Hooded Military Cape
£70

The heeled boot - hiking, lace-up, peep-toe. 3 in 1. Perfect for this season.
£100.00

Utility is still big business for A/W10 and these trousers will see you from the end of summer right through to winter.
£32.00

I've been greedy and chosen 2 - leopard print and a faux-fur collar. Both fantastic pieces.

£16.00

£16.00

My pick of basics and essential items for any trans-seasonal wardrobe. I want all of them!

£26.00

£14.00

£179.00

Can't wait for the next lot of A/W products to go live on ASOS, I know where I'll be spending my cash!

Back to reality

So, i've had the most amazing 3 weeks at home, but they have gone far too quickly and now I'm back down to London on Sunday night to start my internship properly at ELLE.

Graduation was fantastic and Sally and Gareth's wedding was unbelievable! Had the most amazing day and now they're off on honeymoon and then moving down to Oxfordshire when they come back - going to visit their house in about 10 days.

Joe's gone back to work now and not back until the 19th and then....we're off to V FESTIVAL!! So very very excited, it will be absolutely amazing. Get to spend some proper time with my amazing boyfriend and see some brilliant bands. We're then hopefully off to Brighton for Bank Hol weekend which i'm really excited for.

Have some exciting work in the pipeline but not sure what's happening with it yet so can't say anything for now, but I will say it will make me extremely happy :)

THE GRADUATE

So the past few weeks have been SUPER busy. And this week there is no let up either.

I'm graduating tomorrow, in London for the day on Wednesday and then it's my big sister's wedding on Sunday, which i am obviously RIDICULOUSLY excited about.

Really nervous about graduating...it's going to be so weird not going to university anymore, and even though I've had the best 3 years there, it's going to be very strange not going back in September but instead working!

Going for a meal at Cafe 21 tomorrow night for the 'graduation meal' which I can't wait for as have been dying to go there for ages!

On Wednesday, I've got my Graduate Fashion Week mentor day, so swotting up on all the mentors today and how I can get some good advice out of them.

Thursday, me and Joe are having a well overdue day together in Bamburgh, as then the whole weekend will literally be taken over by the wedding.

My big bro and sister in law are coming across from Moscow on Wednesday and I can't wait to see them, so much has happened this year and haven't seen them since Dad's 60th in February.

I will get back to some PROPER updates soon (i.e. inspiration posts and actual work i've been doing!)

Ah, and also....I have a LUSH new MacBook Pro and Adobe CS5!! So excited about getting to grips with it and finally getting round to learning Illustrator.

Will post graduation photos this week!

Inspiration

So the past week has been fairly busy. Setting up my graduate exhibition REVEAL and attending the opening night (the free bar that was supposed to last for 3 hours ran out in 45 minutes!). Since then I've been having a well-deserved break for a few days and now the packing begins because.....I'm moving to London in a week! So thought this was a good opportunity to do a workwear/general inspiration post for going to work at ELLE magazine. So excited to start properly, it will be fantastic.

Loving the grey t-shirt, leather shorts, cardie combo on Alexa.

These beauties from Topshop Boutique (£75) will be perfect for later summer and then Autumn/Winter. Too hot for leather shorts atm!

This oversized stripe t-shirt will be SO easy to wear for work on a hot day. Teamed with heeled ankle boots and bare legs (£32, Topshop Boutique)

Also LOVING this dress from COS, definately a new staple wardrobe piece (love the leather pockets)

And as I am a staunch A/W girl, I have been looking for new winter coats already.

On the list so far I have a flying jacket (hoping to get a vintage one) and either a cape or grey coat, like this beautiful Stella McCartney number, available from Net-A-Porter.

Or this BEAUT of a coat from Miu Miu:

Some things to look forward to:

1. Starting work at ELLE magazine next Monday!!
2. The launch of Mr Porter (new from Net-a-Porter)
3. The return of my gorgeous boyfriend.
4. The soon-to-be-made purchase of the Mulberry Oversized Alexa.
5. Summertime in London.

Graduate Fashion Week

so, it has been Graduate Fashion Week at Earl's Court 2 this week and....I WON AN AWARD!!!

So flattered to be even shortlisted for the award I won and really didn't think I would win at all. Still in shock, very overwhelmed but extremely happy and so pleased that all of my hard work has been recognised!

So, last night at the Gala Show I was presented with the HACHETTE FILIPAACHI MEDIA AND DESIGN AWARD for my BACKSTAGE book by the CEO of HF Kevin Hand aaaaaand ERIN O'CONNOR!! She is incredible - so ethereal and TALL.

Bagged myself a lovely glass trophy, £750 and get mentor support for 2 years from GFW.

So here's one of the many photos of me with my award (still waiting for the official photo to come on the GFW site)
Had a fab time at the afterparty and did a few interviews which is always good!

Off to Leeds for the weekend now and then setting up our graduate show at uni called REVEAL. The preview is on Wednesday evening so we have lots to set up!

If anybody wants any more details about my work please let me know.
